Dr. Chavan worked at Insys Therapeutics from 2007 to 2019 in various management roles, most recently as VP of Pharmaceutical Operations/Analytical/ Stability. At Insys he was involved in various aspects of product development, regulatory CMC strategy for 505(b)2 submissions, quality/compliance and supply chain activities for all the products approved and under development. He was involved in the Insys operations from its start-up phase to its growth as publicly traded company. From 2005 to 2007 Dr. Chavan served as Director of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs at privately held Oakwood Laboratories contributing to the development of long acting injectable depot formulations. From 1999 to 2005 he worked at Akorn, Inc., a publicly traded company, in various positions of increasing responsibilities starting as Senior Scientist to Director of Research and Development contributing to the approval of several injectable and ophthalmic products. From 1994 to 1999 he was involved in diagnostic test development and pharmaceutical formulation and analytical development work for start-up ventures BPI Corp. and Tigen Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Chavan completed B.Sc. (Chemistry) and M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry) from Bombay University in India. He completed his Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Kentucky in 1989 and conducted post-doctoral research from 1989 to 1994. He has several peer reviewed journal publications and patents to his credit.
